Programme for 2022

Gallery 4a

Elemental Sarah Reid

Exhibition by Sarah Reid

Sarah’s work alludes to the colour and ever changing light of Cumbria’s coast and lakes, captured through layers of colour and bold mark making. It has been described as both calming and uplifting. Although Sarah has exhibited widely this is the largest collection of her work to be shown in one place with over 40 evocative paintings on display. The exhibition will also see the launch of her newly published book “Elemental” – a collection of paintings and inspirational quotes.

Chris Cox trained in fine art painting and printmaking in the 1960’s and has worked solely in ceramics since then. Her work is held in collections as far afield as Japan and the USA, to name but a few. Chris experiments constantly, preferring each piece to be unique. For this exhibition she has allowed her work to be inspired by the essence of Sarah’s paintings and has created some beautiful new pieces especially to complement the Elemental exhibition.

The exhibition runs from 1st to the 31st March 2022 (open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm).
