I recently attended The Norfolk School of Painting for an oil painting course under Martin Kinnear. Reading the introductory blurb before setting off indicated that Edward Seago was listed as one of many studied artists so I was excited about attending. The course itself was superb but painfully pointed out just how little I knew.
Although we did not cover Seago during the course, I decided that he was to be my first home study subject when I returned.
I did not want to just copy a Seago painting, but paint my own scene in the Seago style, and my blog documents my research into his methods, finding a scene that would work and my clumsy attempts to do justice to the great man.
